Dr Georgia Allen-Baker

Assistant Professor

Department: Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation

Georgia is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation. She completed her undergraduate degree in Applied Sport Sciences and an MSc in Sport Psychology at Northumbria University in 2007 and 2008 respectively. After graduating, she worked for the NHS for two years in various behaviour change roles before successfully completing her PhD at Brunel Univeristy. Georgia returned to Northumbria as a senior lecturer in 2017.

Georgia's research focuses largely on people's experiences in sport and exercise domains. Her recent publications have focused on children's experiences in sport and exercise, particularly during the early years. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
